Friday Trivia

TODAY’S TRIVIA: Happy Friday!

The NFL released the full 2025 schedule on Wednesday night, and what used to be a minor event has turned into social media cinema.

In one of my personal favorites, the Buffalo Bills’ schedule-release video features GM Brandon Beane mistakenly getting Allen Iverson or “AI” to do the release video instead of using Artificial Intelligence (“AI”).

GET IT?!

What is Allen Iverson's other nickname?

Did I spend way too much time yesterday watching these videos? Why yes, I did, thanks for asking.

Some other good ones:

  • LA Chargers: This one is probably the best: they did a “Minecraft” video, and it’s pretty great and is packed with references

  • Baltimore Ravens: “The Schedule is mysterious and important.”

  • Minnesota Vikings: Totally biased here, but I’m upset that I missed the tattoo sign-up for this video

What’s on this weekend (we have a good one):

  • PGA Championship: Golf’s second major of the year is on ESPN all weekend long

  • Celtics @ Knicks: Game 6 tonight at 8pm on ESPN. The Knicks have to take this one at home, right? It’d be their first Eastern Conference final since 2000 (when they lost to the Pacers)

  • Two Canadian teams try to stay alive: Maple Leafs @ Panthers (2-3) on Friday at 8pm ET on TNT. Jets @ Stars (2-3) on Saturday at 8pm on ABC. Game 7s on Sunday and Monday if needed

  • Nuggets @ Thunder: Game 7 is Sunday at 3:30pm ET on ABC.

  • 150th Preakness Stakes: Saturday at 7pm ET on NBC

  • Subway series: It’s Rivalry Weekend in the MLB, and the Mets @ Yankees might be the best one (both division leaders). Sunday night baseball at 7pm ET on ESPN

Yesterday’s Trivia:

The “Habs” beat the Wayne Gretzky-led LA Kings in 5 games in 1993. It’s been over 32 years since a Canadian team hoisted the Cup.
