Monday Trivia
The Headline: I think a lot of tennis fans (myself included) weren’t sure what the state of men’s tennis would be after the “Big-3” era.
Jannick Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz might be the best new rivalry in all sports. The two have claimed the last 7 Grand Slams, including yesterday, where Sinner (1) took down Alcaraz (2) in 4 sets.
Sinner now has 4 Grand Slams, and Alcaraz has 5. I’m curious if someone will emerge as a third or if this rivalry will continue uninterrupted.
TODAY’S TRIVIA: From 2003 to 2022, either Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, or Novak Djokovic has won Wimbledon.
Who is the only other man to win Wimbledon during this time?Click to reveal |
Hint: He won twice (2013 and 2016)
ICYMI: On the women’s side, Iga Świątek dismantled American Amanda Anisimova (6-0, 6-0). It was tough to watch, and the post-match press conference was even more brutal.
Yesterday’s Trivia:
Pete Sampras won Wimbledon 7 times (‘93, ‘94, ‘95, ‘97, ‘98, ‘99, and ‘00). He is the last American man to win Wimbledon, and we will have to wait another year until that could happen again after Taylor Fritz lost in the semifinal.
What happened in ‘96? Richard Krajicek beat Sampras in the quarterfinals and eventually took the title.
