Fun fact: Durant was born in Prince George’s County, Maryland, but he grew up a Toronto Raptors fan (his favorite player was Vince Carter).

He wanted to declare for the 2006 NBA draft because the Raptors held the top pick (drafted Andrea Bargnani), but was unable to because of the “one-and-done” rule that began in 2005, which prevents players from getting drafted directly out of high school.

It’s a pretty fun “what if” if you ask me.

Yesterday’s Trivia:

The NBA Finals team award is called the Larry O’Brien Trophy. O’Brien was a former NBA Commissioner and was critical in the merging of the NBA and the ABA. He also introduced the 3-point line, re-introduced the salary cap, and was commissioner during a big growth era for the NBA (doubled in ticket sales and television numbers tripled while he was in charge)
