Wednesday Trivia

Morning thoughts:

ICYMI: Alex Singleton, linebacker for the Denver Broncos, was randomly selected for a drug test a couple of weeks ago (very normal thing for NFL players), and while no drugs showed up on the screening, it did detect a tumor and a diagnosis of early-stage testicular cancer.

After learning the news, Singleton had surgery last Friday, a day after the Broncos’ win on Thursday night football. Absolutely crazy.

Today’s Trivia:

Yesterday, the Jaguars announced that their first-round draft pick, Travis Hunter, will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to repair an LCL injury in his right knee.

It’s safe to say that the former Heisman winner will not win Rookie of the Year for offense or for defense.

Who was the last player to win the Heisman and ROTY?

He has missed time due to injury this season

More thoughts:

I almost asked a question this morning about how the Mavericks fired GM Nico Harrison after their 3-8 start this season, but it felt funny to do back-to-back “firing” questions.

The Mavs are in 14th place (out of 15) in the West, have lost Anthony Davis to injury (shocker), and have to watch Luka lead the Lakers to an 8-3 start while averaging 37, 9, and 9. At least they have Cooper Flagg?
