Wednesday Trivia

TODAY’S TRIVIA: We live in a pretty interesting time in the NBA.

For the first time ever, we will have seven different champions in seven years.

The Warriors were the last team to repeat as champions (2017 & 2018). Since 2019, there have been six unique champions…

Which one of these teams was NOT one of those champions?

These finals offer an opportunity for some starved fan bases:

  • Knicks: They haven’t been to the Eastern Conference finals since 2000 and haven’t won a title since 1973. Their only other title came in 1970

  • Thunder: Since relocating to OKC in 2008, the Thunder have reached the NBA finals only once (2012). They are credited with 1 title via the Supersonics in 1979, but if I am an OKC fan, I’m not counting that

  • Pacers: They have been to one NBA finals in their team’s history (a 4-2 loss to the Lakers in 2000)

  • Timberwolves: As my dad would say, the “Timberpuppies” have never made it to an NBA finals. The Clippers, Hornets, Grizzlies, and Pelicans are the only other franchises to have never made an NBA final
