Morning thoughts:

Okay, what happened yesterday??

First of all, Bam Adebayo scored 83 points to move into second on the all-time single-game scoring list ahead of Kobe Bryant (81). As a homer, I don’t love that Bam did so much of it from the free-throw line. He set a new record for free throws made (36) and attempted (43). For context, Kobe went 18-20 from the free-throw line when he went for 81. Call me a hater, but come on, 43 free throw attempts by the Wizards who are trying to tank?

The second piece of huge news is that the United States, after assembling our “dream team,” might not make it out of the pool play in the WBC. They lost 8-6 to Italy (who are not good, btw), and now they need the Italians to beat Mexico today (or score at least 6 runs in a loss) just to advance out of pool play. What?

And lastly! The huge Maxx Crosby trade with the Ravens, the one for 2 first rounders, has officially been called off due to a physical. Can’t believe it. There will be some big ripple effects from this trade that we haven’t ever seen before.

We had a random Tuesday, and a lot happened.
